Need branding photography but stuck on the fence?

Honestly, it can be more comfortable on the fence in the short term. But here’s the thing. When it comes to your brand photography, staying up there will have you constantly scrolling through your photo feed looking for anything that might fit what you need. For your socials, for your website, for anything that gets you out there.

Wouldn’t it be so much better if you knew exactly where to look to find not only what you need, but what you actually want to put out into the world to front up your brand.

Here’s what I’d tell if you came to me…

  • Not every photographer is right for you. There are so many amazing photographers out there, but that’s not the point. It’s about finding one who you connect with. Someone who you get the bounce, the laughs, and ultimately the partnership. That’s where the good stuff happens.

  • Don’t opt for the just rock up and crack on approach. I mean you can, but I wouldn’t. The groundwork happens way before your shoot day. You build the vision together, then you know exactly what you’re cracking on with.

  • We’re vulnerable when we decide to be visible. Being on camera brings most of us some form of challenge. How we work through that process matters. Your photographer can’t change your views on yourself, but they can give you an experience that will help you connect better with your final album.

  • You haven’t come this far, poured this much of yourself into building a brand, to use someone else’s stock imagery. Nothing more to say here.

  • Communication is everything. Don’t play ‘guess what’s in my head,’ find someone who’s willing to listen whilst you figure out how to explain it.

  • Choose a location that actually matches your aesthetic, instead of hoping for a miracle. If you want bright and scandi, spend time finding that. Investing the energy before will avoid disappointment later.

  • It’s crazy how comfort translates to confidence. When it comes to clothes, props, and anything really, choose the things you would rather than the things you think you should. It’s the first thing you’ll feel when you look at the final gallery. If you see yourself, then you’re winning.

  • Nobody knows a business like the person that built it. It’s always good to be open to ideas, but also remember that it’s your final say.

  • Having your own album of brand images will lighten your mental load down the line, it’s just a fact. Invest now, save so much time later.

  • Your brand will evolve, and your images need to evolve with it. One album will not last you a brand lifetime. Lean into what you need now, and come back to it in the future when you feel it’s time to.

These things are all important starting points. Don’t settle. Find your person.

If I sound like your person then let’s have a brew. It’s the fastest way to be sure. I’m looking forward to meeting you.
