York branding photography - be more monty

Often when I talk to people who are starting businesses, they recognise that they need some sort of photography, but the whole thing can feel overwhelming and so they stick their head in the sand. This can stem from the fact that they think they should cover all of the imagery their business will need for the rest of forever in one session, and frankly, that’s not going to be possible.

Businesses grow and evolve, usually in ways we didn’t see coming. Brands shift and redesign along the way. It’s not only completely normal, it’s also a really important thing. We don’t want to be static, and we know we’re going to be constantly learning, even if we experience periods of stillness and reflection. So if you know it’s time to bring unique imagery to your marketing, you can ease up on yourself, and we can talk about what you need right now. The rest will come as and when.

It can also be hard to imagine what you might need from your photography, and we will talk through that step by step along the way. The most important thing is when you see your photos, that you recognise what you see. They should give you that little lift inside, the one that says, that’s me, I’m doing that.

I’ve been working with Imogen since she started Be More Monty, her dog training business, for almost a year now. She’s smashing business building and is constantly putting new ideas into action. Her photography, whilst keeping Monty at the heart, has widened to include the new services she has grown to offer. Her business isn’t restricted to one location, and now neither is the imagery she has to market her offers.

Imogen’s work takes her all over, so we opted to take her first gallery in York City Centre, where I found myself photographing a large number of dogs in a torrential downpour. It wasn’t the world’s most idyllic climate but we also knew it was reflective of the work that has to be done. So we got out there anyway. Next we headed to Allerthorpe Woods, where we were treated to the absolute opposite weather. Gorgeous Autumn tones and a lush sunset made it a fantastic session.

Recently, Imogen has added urban dog training classes to her offer. It’s quite the scene on a Saturday morning, by York Minster, several dogs being trained to function happily in a busy environment, being photographed by me, who is in turn being photographed by tourists. If I’m not lying in a street trying to catch a scene with several moving parts on camera then I know it’s not one of my sessions with Be More Monty!

If you’re looking for a York based dog trainer, then Imogen is your woman. Pop over to instagram and follow her here. My dog prefers her to me, so that’s probably all you need to know. But if you need branding photos and you’re looking to talk it though, you can drop me a message and we can get you sorted. Dogs optional but welcome.
