York Branding Photography - Bring that back-to-school energy to your business.

The old teacher that lives in me (and by the way I mean the previous teacher, not an old one, thank you very much!) bloody loves this time of year. It really is the new year in every sense. You can literally smell the change in the season when you open the window. It's the time for new pencil cases, blank workbooks and fresh ideas. Everyone feels it, even if they're not working in academic years anymore. We're all just ingrained to take a bit more notice at this time of year and be open to new things.

It’s important that we don't sit back and let that adrenaline be just for the kids. September is a great opportunity for us, after a long and sweaty summer, to reflect and think about what we want from this next part of the year. That reflection is an important part of the process when it comes to branding photography. It's about stopping and thinking about what you've already got and what you need to fill the gap to get you through the next part. Sitting down with me over a coffee can be helpful to bring some fresh eyes and new perspective.

Through the process we all work together to plan and get you in the picture. I know for some of my clients that can be challenging, but it really is time to show the people who you're working for who's doing the work. And don't worry, I've completely got you through that process step by step. I'll walk with you from the very beginning to when you open your gallery at the end.

This isn't about trying to photograph the future. It's not about trying to pull together an album that's going to last you for the next few years because it doesn't really work like that. The offers that you have will change, your ideas will change, and you'll change too. This is about focusing on now and producing brand photography that works for you in the part that you're in.

We'll talk about things like location, outfits, and props. It's important that you plan to dress for who you are, not who you think that you should be in the pictures. If you’re comfortable, then that's going to really shine through in terms of confidence in your photos. We'll also talk about the bigger picture. We'll see the whole board in terms of what you need, whether it's for socials, website, emails, or newsletters and we’ll make a plan to get you what you need.

We’ll work in partnership to take away the mental load of trying to find a picture to represent what you want to say. You're not working backwards in this one; you're working forwards. Think about what you want to say and we'll think about what we can photograph to support that message.

Most importantly (and I always say this), having a new branding shoot is a great opportunity to stop and celebrate where you are. If it's your first, then here’s to your launch. If you're updating your pictures again, it's a massive celebration of how far you've come. You’ll probably find that they're quite different to the first set you had, and that says a lot about everything that you've achieved.

We know we've done a great job when you open your gallery at the end, and you recognise exactly who's in the pictures. You see yourself for who you are and how far you've come.

Let's get you booked in for that brew today and make a plan together. Drop me a message here.

Massive thanks to The York Clinic for being absolute legends on their branding session.
